There is no safe alcohol limit. ANY alcoholic drink will impair your judgement and a moment's inattention may be fatal for yourself and other innocent victims. DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE.

Spend Christmas with your family rather than in a police cell, you’ll get very little Christmas cheer in a cell.

If you know you are going to have a drink, put the car in the garage, leave the keys at home and use a bus or taxi.

If you drink and drive you may never reach home - except in a wooden box. Not much of a present for the family is it?

Even if you don't have an accident the chances of you being stopped and arrested are very high. Every Police force has many extra patrols at this time of year and make arrests for drunk driving, most of them in the evening on the way home from the pub or a party, with most of the culprits being between the ages of 22 and 26. You’ll get no sympathy or tolerance or leeway from harassed officers who have to spend too much of their time picking up the pieces of humans left at the scene of drunk driver crashes.

The result is many long driving bans and hefty fines, often the loss of job and career, family and personal hardship and huge additional insurance premiums when the license is regained. It's really not worth it.

DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE.
